The Last One by Tawdra Kandle! Preorder Sale!!

TheLastOneBannerTLOEbook   Meghan Hawthorne is restless. The last year has been a roller coaster: her widowed mother just married a long-time family friend. Her younger brother unexpectedly became a father and a husband. Everyone's life is changing. . .except for hers. As she begins her final summer of college, Meghan's looking for excitement and maybe a little romance. Nothing serious; this girl just wants to have fun.

But the only man for Meghan turns out to be the last one she expects.

Sam Reynolds doesn't need excitement, and he doesn't want romance. Fun is out of the question. He's been the steady, responsible one since his parents were killed, and serious is his way of life.

When Sam rescues Meghan alongside a dark Georgia backroad, she falls hard for his deep brown eyes and slow drawl. But making him see her as more than just a party girl won't be easy. Sam's tempted by the fiery young artist, even as he realizes that giving into his feelings will mean radical change. . .maybe more than he can handle.

Nobody ever said love was simple.

Blog Tour and Giveaway: Gypsy By Trisha Leigh

Book & Author details:

Gypsy by Trisha Leigh
(The Cavy Files #1)
Publication date: May 13th 2014
Genres: Science Fiction, Young Adult

Synopsis:

Inconsequential: not important or significant.
Synonyms: insignificant, unimportant, nonessential, irrelevant
In the world of genetic mutation, Gypsy’s talent of knowing a person’s age of death is considered a failure. Her peers, the other Cavies, have powers that range from curdling a blood still in the vein to being able to overhear a conversation taking place three miles away, but when they’re taken from the sanctuary where they grew up and forced into the real world, Gypsy, with her all-but-invisible gift, is the one with the advantage.
The only one who’s safe, if the world finds out what they can do.
When the Cavies are attacked and inoculated with an unidentified virus, that illusion is shattered. Whatever was attached to the virus causes their abilities to change. Grow. In some cases, to escape their control.
Gypsy dreamed of normal high school, normal friends, a normal life, for years. Instead, the Cavies are sucked under a sea of government intrigue, weaponized genetic mutation, and crushing secrets that will reframe everything they’ve ever been told about how their “talents” came to be in the first place.
When they find out one of their own has been appropriated by the government, mistreated and forced to run dangerous missions, their desire for information becomes a pressing need. With only a series of guesses about their origins, the path to the truth becomes quickly littered with friends, enemies, and in the end, the Cavies ability to trust anyone at all.

Jaime's Review

Gypsy is a great science fiction book. It immediately pulls you in. A group of kids are basically in a group home. What pulls you in, is that this "group home" is for talented children.  So talented the government wants a piece, but they don't want to share either.

A snoopy reporter sneaks his way onto the compound, next thing you know, all these children are ripped away from the only home they've ever known. And placed back with the family they thought didn't want them.

Now the "Cavies" have to adjust to being around normal kids, doing normal things like, high school.
Until Gypsy and her friends are singled out one by one by strangers running up on them and injecting strange liquids into their neck.

The Cavies band together to figure out what or who wants to hurt them. For that they must start at the beginning, how they got placed into the group home.
They find out information that is startling.
Information that will get them into trouble.
Possibly end in death.

I really enjoyed reading Gypsy. I can say that I am waiting to read the second in the series. It's not romance, it's suspenseful YA science fiction and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy books by +Airicka Phoenix !!
