Why Book Covers are So Important
For me book covers are important because that’s the first thing a buyer will see, it will be the
deciding factor if they turn the book over and read the synopsis on the back.
The front cover is the beginning of the book, in a glance it can tell you what it is about, if it is a
children’s picture book or a sci-fi book.
The front cover opens up the reader’s imagination straight away; it presents him or her with
possibilities of being transported to another world, time or dimension.
The front cover is what sells the book. If it is boring in dull muted colors then interest may be
lost as people may think that the book will be boring too.
Bright vibrant colors are needed, something to make it stand out from all other books, something
that speaks to the reader, telling him or her to ‘pick me, pick me, I’m interesting and will fill you
with wonder, sadness, joy and range of emotions that you will love.
The front cover is definitely, what will sell, make or break a book.
In the first of many humorous books in this series we see through the eyes of Taeh the Dalmatian
as she tries to conquer her fear of the vet. Come along on this adventure and see what awaits
her. See as she tries to outwit her pets (humans) as they have a battle of wills to see who will
triumph. Once read you will be hooked on Taeh's adventures and want to read more in the Taeh
the Dalmatian series.
I’m married with 2 children, 4 dogs and a bird, I live in South Australia. I have been writing
children’s and young adults books since 2004 and have got a children’s picture book entitled Taeh goes to the Vet printed.
