I really enjoyed this book and give it 4 1/2 stars! I instantly took a liking to Katica and to her story. I think that it would be awesome to travel to learn about my family. She flies to Prague to meet long lost family and hopefully find out more about her grandfather. I enjoyed that while she thought she would be staying in a ritzy hotel, it was anything of the sort, and kept it realistic to what life was like in that area of town when it was a communist state.
Shortly after she arrives, she meets a college student, Michal, who becomes her tourist guide, because he is instantly attracted to her. But is there something that he is hiding? You wonder if this fresh eyes girl is going to fall in love with someone who might just be out to break her heart or if he is truly a sincere gentlemen.
Plus, there is this crazy old man wearing a trench coat that keeps following her around while see visits the city and seems to be stalking her. What is up with that? Well, you must read this book to find out!
This will definitely be a book that I will re-read in the future. I simply fell in with the characters, the city, and this story! Read the excerpt below to start getting hooked!!
is a second generation Czech-American. Her childhood was filled with dinner table stories about dynamic adventures of life in another land during another time. After graduating from the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida in 2008, she set off on her own adventure with Prague as the destination. To write this book, she has woven the vivid stories from her childhood into her own travel experiences and then sprinkled a little fairy dust on top.
